Thirty Years of Turbulence - Chinese Enterprises

In the Chinese economy, enterprises in Taiwan, China have begun to undergo enviable transformation. Wang Yongqing attempted computerized operations at his Formosa Plastics factory, greatly improving production efficiency, and Taiwan's electronic outsourcing industry began to sprout. A vocational school student named Terry Gou founded "Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd." the year before, and he decided to redefine the electronics industry. In his later memoirs, he said, "When the world's electronics industry referred to the computer industry as a new technology industry, I believed its scale manufacturing capabilities would be reflected in mold technology." It was through mature mold technology that Hon Hai quickly entered the connector field. 22 years later, Hon Hai became the world's largest computer parts manufacturer, with one out of every five computers in the world using Hon Hai's products. As a result, Terry Gou became Taiwan's richest man.

The only Chinese person who attracts attention in the global business world is a Chinese entrepreneur named Wang An. He became a business hero in the United States that year. In 1949, Wang An invented the world's first "storage magnetic core". A few years later, he founded Wang Laboratories, which replaced IBM as the leader in the computer field. By 1983, Wang Laboratories' revenue had skyrocketed to $1.5 billion, ranking seventh among all computer companies in the United States.
