The exam results are not included in the total score for the time being, but are used as a reference for admission. Those who have not learned the above languages ​​can be exempted from the exam. Applicants for foreign language colleges or majors must also take an oral test; foreign language written test scores are included in the total score, and mathematics scores are used as a reference. According to Deng Xiaoping's instructions, "When announcing the list of candidates who participated in the physical examination, the test scores of all candidates in each subject shall be announced. The method of announcement is that the county (district) admissions committee will notify the candidate's unit to pass it on to the candidate." Announcing the candidates' scores is an important measure to improve the openness and transparency of the admissions examination process. It has played a major role in changing social customs and eliminating malpractices such as "backdoors" and favoritism and fraud.
